Support, Stability, and Relief for Your Recovery
We offer various taping techniques, and your physiotherapist will select the most appropriate method based on your specific condition and recovery stage.
How Taping Can Help You
Taping is much more than just sticking a bandage on. It is a targeted therapeutic application used to achieve several key outcomes:
Joint Stability: Provides external support to weak, sprained, or hypermobile joints (like ankles, knees, or shoulders) by limiting excessive or harmful movements.
Pain Relief: Reduces pressure on injured structures and often changes the way the brain perceives pain in the area.
Muscle Function: Can be applied to either relax overactive muscles or facilitate (gently encourage) underactive muscles to work more efficiently.
Injury Prevention: Used prophylactically (preventatively) before sporting events or high-risk activities to protect vulnerable joints.
Postural Correction: Provides sensory feedback to improve awareness and maintain better posture during daily activities.
Our Taping Methods
Our expert team is skilled in applying various forms of taping:
1. Rigid Taping (Traditional Strapping)
This involves strong, non-stretch tape designed to heavily limit movement and provide maximum support to joints like ankles, shoulders, and knees. It is often used immediately after an acute injury or for high-demand sporting activities.
2. Kinesiology Taping (K-Tape)
This involves elastic, flexible tape that moves with the body. It is often used to lift the skin slightly, which can enhance circulation, reduce swelling, and provide sensory feedback without heavily restricting range of motion.
Strapping for
Sporting Clubs
In addition to individual client needs, we offer strapping services on an as-needed basis for clients requiring specific taping for sporting events. We can also provide basic strapping education to sporting clubs to help athletes and staff manage minor support needs effectively.
Ask your physiotherapist how taping can be integrated into your treatment or used before your next sporting competition.
